Introducing an interactive well-being tool for CSU faculty, staff

Sept. 12, 2022

Dear colleagues,

As a career Human Resources professional, I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about the synergy between workplaces and employees, and how both a workplace and all its individual employees deserve the right support to be healthy and thrive. Colorado State University is special because the sum of all faculty and staff who work to make it so, together striving toward a goal of helping young adults achieve their potential before sending them out into the world.

When you ask your colleagues why they like working at CSU, most of the time, somewhere in that answer, is an acknowledgement of “the people” who keep the lights on, the classroom energized, and the innovation clicking.

Like most workplaces, we are also a community of humans who struggle. Life is messy. Sometimes, it is exceedingly difficult. Helping employees with well-being in workplaces has risen to the top of employer priorities around the world. As a university, we want our faculty and staff to have resources to make their whole lives healthy, and to know how to help students with their well-being, too.

That’s why Human Resources is exceptionally proud to launch a faculty and staff focused YOU@CSU tool. You may already be familiar with YOU@CSU if you work closely with students. Several years ago, the CSU Health Network launched a student version of the personalized, confidential, interactive tool for our students. After its impressive success, we’re among the first universities in the nation to provide our faculty and staff with their own tool. Through YOU, you can find tips for managing stress, balancing work and life, tackling physical health concerns, enhancing your career, helping students in crisis, and accessing confidential community resources.

I encourage you to visit YOU@CSU at you.colostate.edu; if you are an employee who already has an account, it will be transitioned into the new interface specifically for faculty and staff. YOU@CSU is part of Grit Digital’s YOU@College, a company created by CSU alum Joe Conrad, who generously gifted the university access to this tool. In typical Ram spirit, YOU@CSU is completely focused on helping you take care of yourself and one another.

Taking care of yourself allows you to be at your best for others in your personal and work life.

CSU is a big place, literally made up of tens of thousands of students, faculty, and staff, each who matter and are journeying through life’s ups and downs. We hope you’ll take full advantage of YOU@CSU, whether you’re thriving and want to keep doing so, see a student who needs some extra care, or wishing there was some good, confidential advice out there to help you tackle life’s current challenges. Because there is, and we want to help you find it.

Be well, Rams.

Sincerely,

Robyn Fergus
Vice President for Human Resources
