These awards recognize Human Resources team members for outstanding, innovative, or gracious effort, skills, service, and dedication.

The program encourages employees to act in accordance with the Principles of Community and departmental values of collaboration, communication, customer experience, integrity and outlook by providing a small incentive to recognize those who contribute to the greater success of the team.
The program is comprised of three distinct awards, each representing unique contributions made by team members.

  • HeaRt award – $25: Awarded to individuals who perform an act that demonstrates kindness or compassion toward others. These actions can easily go unnoticed but are impactful and important to another person, group, or the department.
  • Home Run award – $50: Recognizes someone completing a project or task in an exemplary fashion that models departmental values to others. This award is perfect for when an employee ‘steps up to the plate’ or ‘hits it out of the park.’
  • HeRo award – $100: Awarded when an employee demonstrates departmental values through an action or deed that results in a noteworthy accomplishment or contribution to the department, division, or university. The HeRo award recognizes impact beyond an individual level, representing understanding of the greater mission of Human Resources and/or CSU.
