Janet Pierce, MS, LPC

Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Coordinator

Jan Pierce is CSU’s Employee Assistance Program Coordinator. She connects faculty and staff with benefits offered through EAP including counseling, crisis intervention, work/life resources and guidance, legal and financial planning assistance, traumatic event debriefing, departmental support, consultation, and training.

Jan has been a Licensed Professional Counselor for ten years and has worked in the community, on campus, and in hospitals providing counseling, assessment, and triage services. Jan also worked as a wilderness instructor and therapist at a wilderness therapy program for 5 years. Jan earned her master’s degree in professional counseling at Georgia State University in 2005, and her bachelor’s degree in recreational therapy at University of Georgia in 2000.

Jan enjoys spending time with family and friends in the outdoors and reading in a cozy chair.

Emma Chavez, M.Ed.

Community Resources Coordinator

Emma Chavez is CSU’s Community Resources Coordinator and manages the CARE Program. She connects employees to the services, programs, and activities offered in Northern Colorado that offer health and social services.

Emma has more than eight years of experience in care coordination and case management. She earned a master’s degree from CSU in counseling and career development and a bachelor’s degree in public relations and social work from NUR University in Bolivia, South America.

In her spare time, Emma enjoys spending time with her husband and sons. Emma habla español.
