Medical Summary of Benefits & Coverage:
Colorado Pathways Plan
At CSU, our greatest strength is our employees. That’s why, when it comes to your benefits, we are making changes designed with you in mind. Benefits for the WHOLE YOU.
Every employee has unique needs and whether it’s healthcare, supplemental coverage, or time off for new parents, we have listened to your feedback and worked hard to provide options that support you and your family—at every stage of life.
The Benefits team is hosted several learning sessions—both virtually and in-person—to guide employees through the upcoming benefit changes. You can view a recording of one of the virtual sessions.
What’s new in 2025?
Premium Updates (a premium is the amount you pay each month to maintain enrollment in your insurance coverage)
- A new 4-tier enrollment structure that represents today’s families and better meets the needs and preferences on how you choose to enroll yourself and covered dependents. This includes the addition of Employee + Spouse/Partner and Employee + Child(ren) tiers.
- Thanks to CSU’s increased contribution and establishing new plan offerings, no employee will see an increase in their medical premium for 2025.
Medical Plan Options
- The Gold and POS plans will be phased out effective Dec. 31, 2024.
- Two NEW plan options will be available for employees to enroll in:
- The Colorado Pathways plan offers a highly streamlined EPO network and reimbursement structure, providing greater cost savings to you. This plan is only available to employees who reside in Colorado. Services received outside of the state will not be covered – be sure to consider this if you have covered dependents who do not live in Colorado.
- Determine if your current providers are in the Pathways Network. Make certain to check if your providers and facilities are covered before enrolling in this plan, as the network differs from other CSU medical plans.
- The Aggie Orange plan offers both deductible and copay features for covered services, providing you with flexibility in managing healthcare costs.
- Employees who were enrolled in the Gold or POS plans will automatically be enrolled into the Aggie Orange plan, but it is important to explore all options before the open enrollment period closes on Nov. 15.
Medical Plan Design
- No-cost virtual PCP care through Anthem’s telehealth options for most plans. If you are in the Ram Plan-HDHP, these services will be subject to the deductible, then no cost-sharing after the deductible has been met.
- Health Savings Account contributions for Ram Plan-HDHP enrollees will now be prorated and deposited monthly, offering consistent support throughout the year.
- The prescription formulary is transitioning to a more efficient structure to help you get the best value for your medications. If you are currently taking medications, be sure to review the list to determine which prescriptions are covered and at what cost.
- Anthem’s FREE Move to Medicare program is available to support employees as they approach Medicare eligibility. Whether you are exploring options or just need information, Anthem can help.
FITlife Wellness Incentive
If you complete these four well-being activities by December 31, 2024, you can earn the $150 FITlife Wellness Incentive.:
- Health Promotion: Attend the Health Fair blood draw or get an annual exam.
- Anthem Health Check-in: Complete the Anthem Check-in.
- Healthy Habits: Get a dental exam or attend an EAP well-being training.
- Financial Wellness: Meet with a Fidelity consultant, attend a webinar, or complete a financial checkup.

New Supplemental Plans
Unexpected health events can happen at any time—and managing those costs in today’s economy can be tough. That’s why we are introducing three new benefit options designed to give you peace of mind and financial support when you need it most. Learn more about your new benefits with MyTomorrow.
- Accident Insurance—this plan provides direct cash benefits if you are injured in an accident. Whether it is a broken bone or a trip to the ER, this cash can help cover your medical bills or even everyday expenses while you recover.
- Critical Illness Insurance—if you are diagnosed with a serious condition like cancer, heart disease, or stroke, this plan pays you a lump sum cash benefit, helping you cover deductibles, treatment costs, or other financial needs during recovery.
- Hospital Indemnity Insurance—if you are hospitalized, this plan pays you a direct cash benefit that you can use for medical bills, coinsurance, or even non-medical costs like rent or childcare.
Both the Accident Insurance and Hospital Insurance plans come with an added benefit when you get a preventive care service, like a routine health screening. You can receive a $75 reimbursement—just for investing in your health.
These new benefits are here to help you navigate the high cost of healthcare with more security. Three separate plans—each designed to support you when unexpected expenses arise.

Parental Leave Enhancements
Starting in the 2025 spring semester, CSU is expanding its parental leave program to offer new parents up to 18 weeks of paid leave. This enhancement follows a semester-based approach to time off. Our coordinated leave programs, beginning with the FAMLI program for Colorado employees, work seamlessly to support families during this time.
This parental leave policy update is designed to support the whole you—ensuring you have the time to care for, and bond with, your growing family.
Further details will be shared as the effective date approaches.
