What to expect when enrolling in benefits
If you’d like medical, dental, vision, or other benefits, you must complete your online enrollment within 30 days of your date of hire/eligibility date. Here are your next steps:
Step 1: Learn about your benefits Use the resource links below to discover information on the benefit plans offered by CSU. Also, you can utilize ALEX®, a virtual benefits counselor, that will help you better understand your options and choose the benefits that are best for you and your family.
Step 2: Enroll online
Navigate to the Administrative Applications and Resources (AAR) page and then click on “Human Resources Portal”. Make sure you’ve initiated GlobalProtect and DUO first.
Step 3: Dependents and submitting documentation
If you are covering dependents, your enrollments will indicate “(Suspended)” until you provide official documentation and our HR team approves your dependent eligibility. Submit documents through our Secure Document Delivery.
Step 4: Retirement You will be enrolled in the defined contribution plan (Fidelity Investments). Human Resources will notify you if you are eligible for Colorado PERA (only in limited cases).
Step 5: After you’ve enrolled you will receive information about your benefits. See below for specific information.
You will automatically receive $70,000 basic life and short and long term disability insurance at no cost. Coverage is effective the first of the month following your date of hire/eligibility, unless you request that your benefits begin on your date of hire (an entire month’s premiums is due). In addition your health benefits, CSU supports you by providing a secure and financially stable retirement. CSU is a non-social security employer, so you will participate in either the University’s Defined Contribution Plan (DCP) or PERA, if eligible.

Account access is generally available (5-7 business days) and ID cards are mailed to the address in our system (7-10 business days) following the completion of your enrollment or your effective date, whichever is later. See below for more information on what to expect after you have enrolled.

If applicable, create an account to access ID cards or plan information:
- Anthem (1-800-843-5621): Call Anthem to obtain Member ID, then register at www.anthem.com
- Download the Sydney Health app to access ID cards, providers, cost comparisons, LiveHealth online, and more.
- Delta Dental (1-800-610-0201): Use SSN as Member ID to enroll at www.deltadentalco.com
- Vision Service Plan (1-800-877-7195): Use SSN as Member ID to enroll at www.vsp.com
- Fidelity (HSA) (1-800-343-0860): Use last four of SSN and DOB to enroll at www.fidelity.com

Retirement
It is important for you to establish your DCP retirement account with Fidelity Investments to select investment options and designate at least one beneficiary. If your account is not established timely, your elected vendor will place your contributions into a default investment option.
EMPLOYEE SELF-SERVICE
By logging in with DUO and your eID credentials to the Employee Self-Service portal, you can securely view and manage many aspects of your employment including updating your address or obtaining paystubs and W2s. Use these instructions for help accessing the online system.
